Clash App, Inc.

Clash is a social media platform aimed at becoming the best next-generation monetization tool and community for content creators and their fans. Creators commonly face the issue of identifying who their strongest fans are, as well as how to engage with and build their following. Enter Clash, which allows Creators to directly monetize their content on the platform through direct fan engagement, either by sending Drops (Clash's in-app digital currency), sending FanMail (a paid messaging service), or by joining a creator's Huddle (an exclusive messaging community that allows for access to exclusive content through a VIP subscription). Creators can identify their strongest audience members through their Top Fans leaderboard, and fans can level-up as they engage with creators and their content.

Notable design work completed included:

  • Brand and art-directed through the acquisition of Byte, a TikTok competitor, in which I led re-branding efforts to re-release the app as “Clash” less than a year later, now incorporating Byte’s existing infrastructure into a new app with a new user experience and visual aesthetic.

  • Created a new design system from scratch, including the creation of brand color styles, brand type styles, a redesigned logo, a component library comprised of 100+ custom components, a multi-platform grid system to support web, tablet, and mobile, and accompanying usage guidelines.

  • Mentored junior designers through the creation of designing scalable mobile and web features through paired-design sessions, in addition to leading design education efforts including group critiques, design challenges, and by creating a “Design Learning Series” to share breaking design news and best practices occurring in the industry.

  • Sourced and art-directed with contractors, as well as managed design team budgeting.

  • Led design through feature releases such as FanMail, Drops, and Top Fans that have led to Clash charting on the iOS app store, being nominated for app of the day, being featured in TechCrunch, Tubefilter, Yahoo, Venture Beat, dot.LA,  Business Wire, The Hype Magazine, and ranking #1 on a list of 42 startups powering the Creator Economy by Influencer Marketing Hub.
